Grease

In the mid-90s I joined the Tommy Tune-Jeff Calhoun revival of GREASE at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre.

I played a large number of performances in the pit, conducted by Vinnie Fanuele, for whom I’d also played in the pit of the West Coast and National Tour productions of CITY OF ANGELS.

I became a de facto Music Associate during my time on the show, playing rehearsals for the countless new performers being brought into the ever-rotating cast.

Eventually I was left in solely in charge of teaching the successive new talents their music as they came into the show. Among others, I worked with Chubby Checker, Joe Piscopo, Vincent Tumeo, Marilyn Cooper, and an unknown named Sutton Foster.
